Sequence


Dwelling on simultaneity takes us to sequence. Jackson invokes each of the Patchwork girl's pieces by name: mortals and Goddesses, Men and women, and admonishes the reader to not ignore their own stitched together nature.

She takes a little into the history of her parts - each with its own personality: The heart of the murderess Agatha, who gained justice by her act of retribution; Bronwyn; and even a innocent Kitten.

She knows that the next step will be a return into identity, in the cemetery that gave her birth, Each part will return to the identy of its owner, and the Patchwork Girl will join into the cosmic identity of the dead, of language.
